A web site is a powerful marketing tool which will give you that all important competitive ‘edge’. Businesses which don’t join the masses in the multimedia revolution are likely to fall behind. The web is a widely used communication outlet that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, unlike your business!

Why should I use webpro for my web site?

We were established in 1996 – we have lots of experience and we know what we’re talking about. Our internet consultants will answer your queries in a friendly jargon- free way so you understand the internet. Our customers do not need to have any technical knowledge to use our service.

How will my email work with my webpro account?

The simplest method is to use mail forwarding. With this service we will set up a series of email addresses for your domain, each of which is forwarded to a mail box of your choice. The standard package allows up to five separate email addresses to be set up for your domain.

Example: andrew@mydomain.com or sandra.jones@mydomain.com

All of your email addresses could be forwarded to the same mail box, for example your main AOL account or any other mail box that you use or each email address can be forwarded to a different email box. There is no need for you to have your own email server. All mail for the email addresses that you choose will be automatically forwarded to your chosen mail box.

What about mail to other email addresses within my internet domain?

If you opt for mail forwarding, any mail that is sent to your domain which does not match one of the email addresses that have been set up for you will be automatically rejected by the system and returned to the sender. This helps to prevent junk mail and spam mail from clogging up your mail box.

What if I want to receive all mail that is addressed to my domain?

In this case you will need to use a different type of mail handling, called domain forwarding. This will allow all mail for your domain to be directed to you, but it requires that you run your own email server, and manage your own email addresses. What if I want more than five email addresses for my mail forwarding?

Extra email addresses can be set up in groups of up to five at a time. These will work in exactly the same way as the original names set up if you use the mail forwarding option for your mail.

Will I be able to use my webpro hosting account to send email?

No. webpro deals with delivery of your email to your existing email mailbox, or to your email server if you have one. Our service does not allow you to send mail through our network. Mail sending will work in exactly the same way as it does at the moment. We can give you advice on how to set your sent mail so that the sender name (your name) appears with the correct email address allowing recipients to reply directly to your domain based email address. Do you offer POP3 or personal email boxes?

No. We offer either mail forwarding or domain forwarding, but we do not offer a mail box service. Your email is never stored on our servers: it is always forwarded to your mail box or your own email server.

What type of domain name can I use with my Online Trader service?

We will register or transfer domain names for you in any of the following eight internet domains

.co.uk.

org.uk.

.ltd.uk.

.com

.net

.org

.info

.biz

What if I want more than one internet domain name to work with my web site?

No problem. The standard package includes the cost of registering or transferring your initial domain name to work with your web site and email choice. Additional domain names can be registered and hosted for you. There is a standard cost set out in the Price List for this service.

My internet domain name is already registered. What should I do?

Our service includes the cost of transferring your existing domain name to work with your web site and email choice. We will need to know who currently hosts the domain name and you will need to let them know, probably in writing that you will be transferring your domain name. The cost of this transfer is included in our package price, but there may be a charge made by the current holder of your domain name. You will be responsible for paying any such charge directly to the current name host and you should check this directly with them.

Keep in mind that there can be delays that are outside of our control when you transfer your internet domain name from another name host to webpro.

Can I leave my internet domain name where it is and still select a webpro JumpStart package?

Our service includes the cost of transferring your existing domain name to work with your JumpStart package. We recommend that you transfer you name, but if there are technical reasons why this is not possible, then the name can usually be left with your existing name host. It will be necessary for your current name host to set up a special redirection record for your web site, and they may make a charge for this service, which will be your responsibility. We can liaise with them to provide the technical details for the web site redirection.

We do not offer any email forwarding or other email handling unless we are hosting your internet domain name. There is no reduction in our package charges if your internet domain name is hosted elsewhere.

What about domain name registration fees?

All of our packages include the cost of any registration fees payable to the central internet domain name registry for that domain name.

What if I want to move away from webpro later on?

Your JumpStart web site will stop working, but when you close your account, we make no charge for transferring any domain name to another domain name host.
